The fact that Leprechaun Returns doesn't pretend to be a "reimagining" of the previous film is another thing I really like about it. Although it is a sequel to the (first post) slasher film, it feels confident enough to just be what it is, which Hollywood could use more. In other words, a new Friday or Nightmare sequel should follow this model and not try to reinvent the wheel.
